WTF: Your Household

Happy Taco Tuesday!

Before I jump right into the WTF for this week, I wanted to touch on the latest build. Besides some color/UI changes, there were some really nice new features added to the iOS (and web) app, including:

Grocery Usuals — Items you purchase regularly can now be added to your grocery cart with the tap of a button!

Ingredients — You can now mark ingredients as collected (you grabbed them from the pantry) and prepped (you measured things out, chopped things up, and have them ready for the recipe). You have to turn this on in your Profile settings.

Household Ratings — People in your household can now rate recipes independently, contributing to a Household Rating. The Household Rating is used to help suggest recipes people in your household enjoy and is separate from community ratings. It’s up to you to decide if you want the kid who only eats chicken nuggies to rate your Spicy Fish Tacos….

Ratings have been converted from stars to tacos. We all know tacos are a better unit of measurement.

If there are no world-ending bugs in the latest build, Taco Tuesday will be sent to Apple for review, then hopefully out to the App Store in the next couple of weeks!

This Week’s WTF: Households

Speaking of Households, that is the focus of today’s WTF.

If you are the head honcho of your Taco Tuesday world, you can invite up to 4 other people to join your Taco Tuesday household. Presumably, these would be people you live with, but I’m not coming to your house to check.

Households have a few benefits:

• One subscription: Household members share a single subscription.
• Individual accounts: Everyone in the household has their own user account and password.
• Shared recipes: Everyone can share recipes within the household.
• Independent ratings: Household members can independently rate (taco) recipes. (See above)
