WTF: Taco Tuesday is now on the App Store! Also Family Sharing...
Happy Taco Tuesday!
Today is a very special Taco Tuesday: Taco Tuesday is now available on the iOS App Store!
It’s been a long road from where this app started to its current iteration, but I think it’s turned into a pretty great app, and I’d love it if you would share it with your friends and family.
One of the more unique features of Taco Tuesday is the ability to share a single subscription with your household. That’s the focus of today’s WTF: Family Sharing.
In a recent beta update, I added the ability to share your Taco Tuesday subscription with up to four other people in your household. Along with that comes a handful of features designed specifically for families and other folks who live together and, naturally, have opinions about recipes, meal planning, and groceries.
Recipes
All members of a household can independently rate recipes based on their own tastes.
Maybe the parents really enjoyed Brandon’s Egg Roll Tacos and gave them a 5-taco rating, but the kids were less impressed and gave them 3 or 4 tacos. The ratings are averaged for the household, giving the meal planner a better idea of what everyone in the house enjoys.
Meal Planning
Now, all members of the household can recommend recipes for the meal plan. They can suggest a recipe for a specific day or for the week.
Of course, the meal planner has veto power, but everyone gets a chance to offer their input. Democracy is great, but someone still has to decide what’s for dinner.
Grocery List
Recipes still populate the grocery list as before, but household members can also add their own items. Those additions are labeled with the name of the person who added them, so you’ll always know who was responsible for putting Cookie Crisp on the grocery list.
And, of course, you can remove it if Cookie Crisp simply isn’t in the cards for the week.
I still have lots of features to implement, and I appreciate your feedback as always.
For those of you currently in the TestFlight, you can continue to use Taco Tuesday for free as long as you’re using and testing the app. And that also gives the folks in your household access to the app!
Enjoy!
