WTF: Meal Plan Settings

Happy Taco Tuesday!

This week’s WTF focuses on Meal Plan Settings. In your profile, you can adjust how the meal plan works for your household.

  • Choose which meal rows appear in your plan. We offer four standard options: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. You can add your own custom rows as well, for those who eat second breakfasts or other hobbit-style meals.
  • Choose which day your week starts on.
  • Under Suggestions, you can sort recipes by Top Rated, Recently Added, and Last Used. You can also hide recipes that are already in the meal plan, have Taco Tuesday always suggest a taco recipe (of course), and get reminders about recipes that haven’t been made in a while.

I didn’t send an email last week and may switch to sending these every other week, depending on what’s happening with Taco Tuesday. I’ve been working on a lot of behind-the-scenes items that I don’t think most of you would find super interesting.

There are a few new items you might want to know about:

  • For those of you who are silly enough to purchase the new iPhone Duo, Taco Tuesday has been designed to fit all of its screens and orientations. That sure was fun!
  • The website (tacotuesdayapp.com) was recently updated to match the style of the iOS app. If you have an older iPad, an Android device, or a computer, the website does 99% of what the iOS app can do and now looks great in the process!
  • If you have a recent Mac, you can download the iPad version of the app from the App Store. I don’t know how many folks are interested in a full Mac version, but the iPad version is fully featured as well. I’d like to create a Mac version, but that’s a big effort, and I’m not sure it’s worth it right now.
  • I’ve been working on a “stats” page that will show you some fun information about your Taco Tuesday usage, like the number of recipes you’ve cooked, the average taco rating of your recipes, and which recipe has been cooked the most. This is already available on the web and will be in the next iOS version.
  • There’s now a “Notes” section for each recipe. This is also available on the web and will be in the next iOS version.

That last item was a suggestion from a Taco Tuesday user! If you have suggestions, you can email me at patw@tacotuesdayapp.com.

You can follow Taco Tuesday online:

Please rate Taco Tuesday in the App Store. Ratings and downloads help other folks find Taco Tuesday.

Word of mouth is also the primary way I’m advertising at the moment. Please share Taco Tuesday with folks!

Thanks!

Pat
